I'm thrilled to announce that the SongShape Chorus will partner with the CICOA Aging & In-Home Solutions and Dementia Friends of Indiana to provide a new chorus for those in the early to mid-stage of dementia and Alzheimer's and their care partners. I'm so grateful for Dustin Ziegler (CICOA - Director of Community Programs) for championing the cause for this project. At the end of our first meeting together back in January, he communicated that he wanted to find a way to make this happen. He has brought numerous individuals and organizations to the table to take part in bringing the gift of music to our community (I'll be sharing some of our other partnering organizations with you in the near future). Our desire is that this partnership will be an impactful way of drawing awareness to the condition and demonstrate that people living with dementia can still live a flourishing life. We hope that family care partners will feel supported and welcomed in their communities through this initiative. I had the opportunity to sit down and interview Dustin on the history and work of CICOA.
